Sailing Experience
Levanzo, after Formica, is the smallest and most romantic of the Egadi Islands. Its 10 km² surface and tiny village, home to around 200 residents, make it a true hidden gem. The name “Phorbantia” comes from Greek origins and refers to the island’s abundance of wild herbs.
Picture a wild coastline, crystal-clear waters, and a timeless atmosphere. The island is dotted with small caves and hidden coves, where seabirds like the rare “Berta maggiore” find refuge.
During the day, we’ll explore enchanting spots like Cala Calcara, Cala Fredda, and the Faraglione, before entering the heart of the Marine Protected Area (Zone “B”), a pristine coastal area often inaccessible from land. Sailing clockwise from the Faraglione to Capo Grosso, you’ll admire dramatic cliffs, the historic lighthouse, and the waters where the famous naval battle between Carthaginians and Romans took place on March 10, 241 B.C. Ancient Roman anchor remnants still lie preserved at 30 meters depth—a living history lesson under the sea.
Let the simplicity and natural beauty of Levanzo captivate you, leaving you with memories too precious to carry home on a plane.
